BEHIND THE MURAL

HOW WE ALL WORK TOGTHER

HUMAN RESOURCES & RECRUITING

The Human Resources department regulates all the internal agency relationships and brings in any new talent needed. When a department needs help, they coordinate with hiring managers to find the best candidate for the position. If someone needs to shift to another department, HR knows exactly where they belong. Finally, they conduct training sessions whenever needed and seminars to augment different skills essential to the advertising industry.

HUMAN RESOURCES & RECRUITING

PROJECT MANAGEMENT

This department is responsible for keeping projects efficient by acting as the link between internal departments. Project managers are vital to the advertising process because they minimize any possible miscommunication within the agency by sticking to the approved timeline. Project managers overlook the scope of work, time, budget, resources, and team members.

ACCOUNT SERVICES

ACCOUNT SERVICES

The account services department consists of account executives, supervisors, and directors. This department is responsible for maintaining the relationship between the agency and client. Account people interact with almost every department in order to keep the client updated on their work's status. The account team generates the creative brief – one of the most important documents when developing a campaign.

PRODUCTION

What’s an idea without an execution? In the production department, concepts become actual advertisements. The creative team consults with production to discuss the viability of various ideas. Once ideas are client-approved, the account team comes in to review budget. The production department does everything required to get a campaign published, whether it’s working with external vendors or hiring directors for shoots.

PLANNING & STRATEGY

Account planning incorporates both research and strategic thinking. This department is responsible for consumer insights, strategic direction, and research. They make sure the advertisement aligns with the client’s target and brand. Account planners make sure the work is both unique and relevant to the consumer’s perspective by studying information from their demographics, purchasing habits, and much more.

MEDIA BUYING & PLANNING

This department obtains advertising time and space in order for a campaign to reach the right people at the right time and place. Anywhere an ad can be consumed, such as TV and radio time, outdoor space, magazine and newspaper insertions, and internet banners, has a price. Media works with the creative department and client to discuss what coverage is needed to relay the ad’s message.

CREATIVE

The creative department is the powerhouse of the agency because it creates the product! There are wide-ranging roles in this enormous department, such as copywriters, art directors, and creative directors. Copywriters and art directors often work in teams to concept ideas according to the creative brief. The creative director must make sure these ideas are united with both the brand and brief.

NEW BUSINESS

The new business department works on securing accounts. They collaborate with the creative and account planning teams in order to win pitches for new client work. This department also empowers agency employees to continue reaching for new challenges while also positioning the agency as experts in their field.

AGENCY COMMUNICATIONS

This department includes all the administrative roles, such as secretaries, front desk receptionists, and technology support. These individuals allow every other department to function effectively! They make sure all the shifting parts are moving correctly so great work can be created. Tasks in this department may include scheduling conference rooms, directing visiting clients to their destination, and updating or fixing employees’ technology.
